SUMMARY:Fetal Health Surveillance Fundamentals Workshop - Brightshores Health System
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is intended for Physicians\, Registered Nurses\, and Registered Midwives (or students of these disciplines) who have limited experience in obstetrical care and want to learn the fundamental concepts of fetal health surveillance. \nObjectives: Upon completion of this course\, learners will be able to: \n\nDiscuss the current guidelines on intrapartum fetal health surveillance\nReview and practice the techniques of FHR auscultation and EFM\nInterpret FHR characteristics from both auscultation and EFM\nIntegrate the concepts of acid-base balance and the interpretation of fetal blood gas values into FHR interpretation\nIdentify important principles of verbal communication and written documentation\nOutline supportive and corrective interventions for various FHR findings\n\n

DESCRIPTION:MNCYN is facilitating ACoRN Provider Training with a 2-day Workshop for 4 teams of 3 (Physician\, RN\, and RRT – a Midwife  can attend in place of the RN/RRT).  This training event will take place at LHSC in Rm C4-020 (the Paediatric/Womens Classroom).  Registration closes Sept 8th 2023 and proof of successful completion of the CPS ACoRN online exam must be forwarded by Sept 15th 2023.

SUMMARY:Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry Western University Paediatric Grand Rounds
DESCRIPTION:Paediatric Grand Round lectures take place every Wednesday from 12:00-13:00hrs in the Children’s Hospital from September through June. These rounds cover a wide range of basic and clinical science topics relevant to paediatrics. \nTarget Audience \nDepartment of Paediatrics and Schulich Medicine faculty\, community paediatricians\, residents\, and students are welcome to learn about paediatric topics\, research\, challenging clinical cases. \nObjectives \nThe Paediatrics Grand Rounds are designed to discuss and evaluate cutting-edge topics relevant to contemporary pediatric practice. It is a forum for information exchange and showcase excellence in paediatric research and education. The lectures are presented by the faculty of Western University and guest faculty from around the country and the world.\nOur scheduling goal is to present balanced topics covering general as well as specific paediatric health care. The rounds offer formal 45-50-minute lecture presentations with 10-15 minutes of interactive discussion. \nAccreditation \nGrand Rounds are accredited by the Royal College as a Category 1 Continuing Professional Development activity\, \nChildren’s Hospital staff desiring CME credit are asked to sign in One45 and then complete the online survey. Please submit your evaluations as a way of recording your attendance. Recommendations for future speakers/or topics are also recorded from these Surveys\, which help determine future Grand Rounds presentation topics and speakers. \n2022-23 Schedule \nTo be added to the mailing list please email Renee Vachon
