Members of the Shaken Baby Syndrome Prevention Project, including MNCYN and Participating Regional Hospitals in the Southwest Region, were recognized for the Period of Purple Crying initiative. The award was presented by SW LHIN CEO, Michael Barrett.

The project, called the Period of Purple Crying, was initiated at the London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) in 2008 as a way to prevent Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS). It is a best practice program based on 25 years of research, designed to provide tools and strategies to parents in coping with normal crying.
